                   LAPPING AND POLISHING SYSTEMS

                                                                THE LAB ONE®

Lapping and Polishing System shown here in chemical configuration with reciprocating arm and process timer.

Lab One is available in four "option" packages.

Since a huge range of polishing techniques and their application-specific accessories are seldom required by a new user, we have simplified the selection of the initial system by introducing "Option" packages. These Options have been selected carefully from the many requests received from widely different sections of industry and research.

Building a system from components which form the same central inventory allows us to provide each Option with real value for money, high technical specification and the ability to upgrade to new tasks.

Some of the "Options" currently available consist of the following:

OPTION A: Chemically Resistant Polisher.
Typical uses- Chemical or Chem/Mechanical polishing of III/V's, II/VI's etc. Includes 2 work stations and peristaltic pump, starting at $3,500.

• OPTION B: Optical Polisher.
Typical uses- Flat high surface uniformity, mono or multiphase, prices as low as $2, 800.

OPTION C: Multipurpose Polisher.
Typical uses- Multi-medium polishing of full hardness range. The ideal lab system for high quality sample preparation, $2, 300 and up.

OPTION D: Hand Polisher.
Typical uses- Metallurgical specimen preparation. Our most economic system at only $1, 990.
                                                                    MULTIPOL 8/10

The MULTIPOL 8/10 from ULTRA TEC™ is a versatile lapping and polishing system capable of preparing the most demanding specimens required by Research and Industry. Primarily designed for research and pilot-scale production applications, the machine allows up to two workstations to be used along with many methods of sample holding producing a high versatility which is further extended by the availability of a wide range of accessories and polishing plates.

The system's exceptional build quality which incorporates heavy duty castings, flexible motor mountings and differential Vee-Belt drives, ensures minimum work patterning. This quality makes the highest precision sample preparations possible.

Optical standards of finish may be achieved with the use of a reciprocating sweep mechanism. This control allows maintenance of surface parallelism and flatness. Sample loading is fully variable, as are the sweep and rotation speeds.

All parts which come into contact with polishing media are produced from either stainless steel or heavy duty plastic and are quickly detachable for ease of cleaning and avoiding cross contamination. A spindle lock allows for plates to be changed quickly and conveniently.

These are some of the MULTIPOL 8/10 main features:

Versatility.
Optical Standards.
Ease of cleaning.
Sample holding.
Preparing the widest range of materials.
