                                                                  MICROSLICE
                                                       Precision Annular and Peripheral Saw

MICROSLICE precision saw is ideally suited to cutting operations where one or more of the following considerations are important:

The material to be cut is hard, soft, friable or delicate in        nature.
A good surface finish is required, with minimum
    material damage.
Cutting losses should be minimized.
The cut surfaces require high flatness and/or
    parallelism.

The machine may be configured in both annular (I.D.) and peripheral (O.D.) modes to allow for maximum versatility in sample operation. A wide range of accessories further enhances this versatility.

MICROSLICE's level of performance benefits from a high build standard that includes manufacture of a precision-machined movement and indexing mechanism, allowing samples up to 50mm to be cut. The counterbalance mechanism provides the means for extreme delicacy of cut-a low effective inertial mass is possible on the work piece being fed to the blade. This makes the method ideal for unique or precious samples where low damage is vital, or for cutting composite materials. The integral coolant recirculation system extends blade life and clears cutting debris to improve cutting rate and surface quality.

                                                                       Precision Saw

Developed to facilitate precision sectioning applications in Industry and Research, the ULTRASLICE 6000 Precision Saw provides the user with a unique combination of features:

Versatile sample holding.
Cutting accuracy
Reproducible results.
Long cuts and dicing applications.
All blade types.
Blade speed.

The system features an integral coolant recirculation system which extends blade life and clears cutting debris to improve cutting rate and surface quality.

ULTRASLICE 6000 can handle sample cutting requirements of all shapes, sizes and applications. Samples may be presented to the blade with table attachments ( X, Y, W, and Z direction accessories) or with an optional micro-positioned counterbalance work-arm.

A wide range of workholders allow for holding samples of most dimensions and orientations and are described overleaf. Sample mounting is very straightforward with the use of lever-actuated 'Quick Release' holders which may be removed or mounted in a few seconds.

All the system's controls are positioned on a conveniently located panel, including coolant control, table feed, main spindle controls, and tachometer and ammeter readouts. An automatic cutout is provided so that an ULTRASLICE 6000 may be left unattended during a cutting cycle and will turn off after cut completion.

A fully-enclosed splashguard is provided which may be opened to allow front panel access or be completely removed.

ULTRASLICE 6000 will accept blades that range in diameter from 2.187" -8". A wide range of blades are offered by ULTRA TEC™, including sintered and electrometallic diamond blades, abrasive cutoff blades and special dicing varieties.
